Frequently Asked Questions
1-How can I get my child involved?

A- The USGLL Long Beach 2018 Spring Season starts on Saturday, April 7th. Potential Players that wish to be considered for team competition for the Fall Season must register online and come to one of the skill assessment dates (Mandatory for Team Play). One Skill assessment day required. Skill assessment day are March 8th, 10th, and 11th. See the SCHEDULE menu on our website for location and times.

2- When and where will play begin?

A- The 2018 USGLL Long Beach Spring Season opens April 7th and continues through June 16th. Play is on Sundays except where noted on the schedule. All players are now at Recreation Park 9 Golf Course (Tour Division players start at 1:45 PM and Mini Tour players start at 2:00 PM). Players are allowed to have pull carts at the golf course. 3- How much does it cost?

A- The fee for the 2018 Spring Season is $175.00 per player. This fee covers the entire season, including: uniform shirts & hats, greens fees, practice balls during practices scheduled by the coaches, clinics, finals and local championship. All will be invited to the Awards Banquet at the end of the season.

4-What about my younger/older child?

A-The 2018 Spring Season will have the following divisions (all co-ed) Tour Division for match play, ages 8-14, Mini Tour Division; 6-12yrs, Future's instructional program 6-8 yrs. old. (Instructional Programs are also $175.00 for the season); Includes professional golf instruction, uniform shirts and hats, Awards and Awards Banquet to celebrate their accomplishments. 5-Can I get involved?

A- Yes! We are always in need of volunteers for various Coach and League positions.

6-How do teams compete?

A-The Match Play Format is based on weekly Match Play events. Play formats include Scramble & Modified Alternate Shot.

7-How are the teams chosen?

A- A player registers for the USGLL online and then must come to one "Skill Assessment" event (Mandatory). Check the Schedule page for dates and locations. Each player is evaluated on their skill levels in Swing, Putting & Chipping, Rules and Etiquette. Each player is then given an overall ability rating and placed on a team appropriately. Each team of five players will be evenly matched and skilled with other teams.

8-What if my child isn't ready to play in the league?

A-There are many options available for children to continue their growth in golf including; Future's Instructional Program, (6-8 yrs old), and the Futures Division Instructional Program (8-14 yrs old), which are USGLL Instructional Golf Programs.There are also Jr. Golf Programs and private and group instruction programs throughout the Long Beach area. We are determined that all kids who want to play get the opportunity to play or be involved in a Jr. Golf instruction program.

9-What if my child doesn't have clubs?

A- We can assist in supplying some clubs through the many generous donations of used clubs to our local golf courses and some golf clubs through our Sponsorship program.

10-Where/When does the team practice?

A- Practice areas will be established throughout Long Beach including Recreation Park (9 and 18). The dates and times to be made available by the Team's coach.

11-Can I / we sponsor a team?

A- Yes! We have many opportunities for Team Sponsors, as well as District and League Sponsors, and Mentor a child Sponsors. All donations are tax deductible and come with great visibility to advertise within the community as well as over the internet. If you would like to be a sponsor please contact us at 844-521-4653.

12-What if we don't live in Long Beach?

A- USGLL Long Beach reaches welcomes players from any location. Please just consider the distance to travel for both practice and scheduled matches.

13-Will this affect my childs Jr. Golf status?

A- Giving all players the ability to compete and practice their skills as a player and a Teammate can only enhance the future of our Jr. Golf Programs and our High School golf teams giving them the opportunities to go on to secondary schools via the many golf scholarships available.
